Copyright & DMCA Policy
RMG respects creators' rights — we are creators. Our productions use material we made, material we are licensed to use, or material used under a good-faith fair-use basis (commentary, criticism, and transformative edit work), and our production process includes rights checks before publishing. If we got something wrong, we want to fix it fast.
If you believe your work was used without permission
Send a notice containing the items the DMCA (17 U.S.C. §512) requires:
- Your name, address, phone, and email.
- The copyrighted work you believe was infringed.
- Where the material is on our services (a URL is best).
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and you are the owner or authorized to act for them.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Send notices through our contact page route — mark the subject "DMCA" — and every complete notice is honored on the timeline below.
What happens next
- We review every complete notice promptly and, where the claim is valid, remove or disable access to the material.
- We notify the account or channel team responsible for the material, who may send a counter-notice if they believe the use was lawful. Counter-notices must include the §512(g) items: identification of the removed material and its prior location, a statement under penalty of perjury of good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification, the sender's name, address, phone, and consent to jurisdiction, and a signature.
- Where a counter-notice is valid, material may be restored 10–14 business days after the counter-notice is forwarded to the original complainant, unless the complainant files a court action.
Repeat infringers
Accounts and contributors who repeatedly infringe lose access to publishing through our services. The policy is applied case by case, in writing.
Client content
Second Shift produces client content from the client's own materials and licensed sources. If a notice concerns client content, we notify the client the same business day we act on it. Clients are responsible for the rights to material they supply; we are responsible for what we source.
